Ladies’s ice hockey kicked off 2024 with the starting up of a new expert league that debuted Monday with a match between the Toronto and Novel York teams.
The Educated Ladies’s Hockey League “rings in the Novel Year with the very first long-established season game in league historic previous,” the PWHL said in a press starting up.
Toronto earned the first victory in the brand new league, beating Novel York 4-0 in Toronto.
The long-established season consists of larger than 20 games and runs till May per chance well, and must be adopted by playoffs.
The league has six teams: Boston, Minnesota and Novel York on the American side, and Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto on the Canadian side.
Ice hockey is Canada’s nationwide winter sport however remains largely dominated by males.
The National Hockey League (NHL), the males’s equivalent, used to be founded in 1917 in Montreal and has 32 teams spread across the two worldwide locations.
