Senita Resident Charged in Late-Night Shooting Incident
A Senita resident, Jorge Moreno, finds himself entangled in multiple felony charges following a late-night shooting incident earlier this week, as detailed in police documents.
The 45-year-old Moreno stands accused of four felony counts related to weapons misconduct, alongside charges of disorderly conduct involving weapons, unlawful discharge of a weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, he faces one misdemeanor charge of endangerment.
The series of events unfolded just before midnight on Tuesday, prompting approximately 10 individuals to contact law enforcement, reporting gunfire in the vicinity.
One eyewitness, among those who reached out to the authorities, recounted seeing a neighbor “standing on his back patio firing rounds off from a firearm,” as stated in the police report.
Subsequently, the Maricopa Police Department swiftly arrested Moreno at his residence near Santa Rosa Parkway and Elizabeth Avenue, taking him into custody around 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
Under Arizona sentencing guidelines, Moreno could potentially face a sentence of up to 23 and a half years in prison due to the severity of the charges against him.
