Dec. 27 (UPI) — Amazon will introduce adverts to its High Video streaming provider in January.
The company mentioned in a letter to subscribers Wednesday that it would originate exhibiting “restricted adverts” in motion photos and TV series on High Video starting Jan. 29.
“This could allow us to proceed investing in compelling utter and retain rising that funding over a prolonged interval of time,” Amazon mentioned.
The company added that it aims “to bear meaningfully fewer adverts than linear TV and numerous streaming TV services.”
Participants pays an additional $2.99 month-to-month for an advert-free option.
Ads is rarely any longer going to appear in utter that is bought or rented.
High Video originals encompass The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Vitality, The Boys, Jack Ryan, Citadel, The Wheel of Time, Reacher and The Summer I Became Quite. The provider teased its 2024 slate this month, which will encompass Fallout, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and The Boys Season 4.
Fellow streaming products and services Hulu, Netflix and Disney+ previously presented advert tiers. Apple TV+ is the suitable last main streaming provider to retain a purely subscription model.
