Another fast food restaurant coming to Maricopa early 2024

The resurgence of Carl’s Jr. in Maricopa is steadily progressing as evident from the recent developments. In late October, the once-vacant lot nestled between Maricopa Animal Hospital and Rili B’s Taco Shop at 20015 N. John Wayne Pkwy witnessed the commencement of construction activities with crews breaking ground and initiating the transformation.
Within a span of fewer than two months, the landscape of the lot has undergone a significant change. The framework and walls are steadily rising, hinting at the rapid progress of the forthcoming establishment.
SimonCRE, the Scottsdale-based commercial real estate developer, shared their insights earlier this year, projecting an estimated opening between April and June for the new Carl’s Jr. establishment. Content Marketing Manager, Nick Robello, from SimonCRE confirmed the timeline. The construction crews remain steadfast on their trajectory to reintroduce the beloved charbroiled burger joint to the town. Robello reiterated today that the second quarter of 2024 remains the targeted launch window for the eagerly awaited return of Carl’s Jr.
Notably, Carl’s Jr. had previously operated in Maricopa at the location now occupied by Wendy’s on North John Wayne Parkway, before ceasing operations in December 2018. The announcement of its return was first made in late 2021, marking a resurgence in the array of national fast-food chains adorning John Wayne Parkway. The lineup already includes prominent names like Taco Bell, Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Burger King, and Sonic.
The impending return of Carl’s Jr. not only signals a new chapter for the fast-food landscape in Maricopa but also reflects the enduring appeal and demand for diverse dining options within the community. But Maricopa, do we really need another unhealthy fast food option?
