A local incident unfolded at Gyro Grill on North John Wayne Parkway resulting in the arrest of 50-year-old Anton Krawczyk by the Maricopa Police Department on Friday evening. The arrest transpired following Krawczyk’s refusal to vacate the premises or disclose his identity when approached by law enforcement.
The sequence of events, as detailed in a probable cause statement obtained by reputable sources, commenced with Krawczyk expressing a desire to spend his life with a woman, who declined his proposal. Subsequently, he was requested to leave the establishment.
Officers responded to the Greek food establishment just after 8 p.m. and encountered Krawczyk, noticeably in an inebriated state, who alleged an employee had assaulted him with a knife.
Upon authorities’ insistence for identification, Krawczyk’s non-compliance led to his prompt detainment by handcuffing. A witness reported Krawczyk’s unsolicited inebriated marriage proposal and subsequent aggressive behavior upon being asked to depart by the restaurant owner.
Reportedly, Krawczyk resorted to threatening the owner’s life, ominously mentioning awareness of the restaurant’s location. Additionally, a customer clandestinely recorded the altercation while seeking refuge within the restaurant.
Law enforcement records revealed Krawczyk’s probation status stemming from a prior reckless driving conviction in Apache Junction last year. His history included multiple charges for driving under the influence (DUI) and other traffic-related violations, as per court documentation.
Following his arrest, Krawczyk faces charges encompassing disorderly conduct, threats, second-degree trespassing, and providing false identification. The severity of the charges could result in a potential two-year jail term, as he was booked into the Pinal County jail.
