Montana has set restrictions on at least 13 rivers in the western part of the state to lower stress on fish amid record heat and drought. The rules restrict fishing after 2 p.m. Rivers impacted include the Bitterroot and Gallatin. Some areas of western Montana are experiencing one of their hottest summers on record to date as of July 19. Parts of the region were also in extreme or severe drought.
