Special meteorologists help crews battle weather, wildfires in Arizona
An iMet, or incident meteorologist, provides key information about the weather to help fire crews develop a strategy to fight wildfires. They look at things like temperature, wind direction, and relative humidity—really all things that could contribute to a wildfire’s spread. They typically work 16 hours a day and can be on-site for two weeks, sometimes more or less.
