A search sparked by a picture that parts of a pleasure vessel had been considered off the flee of East Sussex has been stood down.
HM Coastguard led the search within the English Channel, south of Hastings, from about 08.45 BST on Thursday.
A coastguard helicopter, an plane, an all-weather lifeboat and several non-emergency vessels have been assisting the operation.
The coastguard found the particles used to be from a ship which had bustle aground about three weeks agoand its occupants had made it safely to shore.
A spokesman from HM Coastguard talked about: “The operation used to be stood down after investigations found the parts have been from a sailing vessel that went aground at Seaford Head, East Sussex, on 19 April.
“Each americans on board made it to land stable and well.”
The quest used to be called off at about 12.10.
