Families react to more oversight at troubled assisted living home

Families are hopeful more changes will be made after a third party is appointed to oversee operations at the troubled Heritage Village in Mesa. Dana Kennedy, president of AARP of Arizona, said it’s extremely rare to have someone “take over”‘ an assisted living community, but considering all the allegations of elder abuse and the hundred-plus violations Heritage Village has been hit within the past several years, something had to be done.
