Plans cancelled for second Dutch Bros location in Maricopa

Efforts to introduce a second Dutch Bros Coffee outlet in Maricopa appear to have hit a snag, with developments suggesting a potential halt to the expansion due to a reported breakdown in communication between the company and city developers in recent months.
City records, confirming a lapse in communication, revealed that discussions between the city and Dutch Bros ceased back in July.
“The communication dropped off, and no new documents were submitted to Development Services,” stated the city records clerk, shedding light on the halted dialogue.
As outlined by Planning and Zoning Manager Rick Williams in July, the anticipated progression would have involved Dutch Bros submitting a development review permit.
“If they choose to move forward developing the site, they will have to submit for development review permit approval,” Williams explained. “Once we have that official application, then I’d be able to predict when it would go to [the Planning and Zoning] Commission for informational review.”
Despite this, representatives from Dutch Bros have not responded to requests for comment, leaving the status of the proposed second location uncertain.
The news of Dutch Bros eyeing a second location in Maricopa surfaced in July when the company submitted paperwork for a site situated on the northeast corner of Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway and Stonegate Road. This location was previously intended for Chili’s Bar and Grill before the restaurant withdrew its plans last year.
