Pluto: Arizona’s state planet? It could happen if bill is passed
Once a planet, the dwarf planet Pluto could be named as Arizona’s state planet if a bill is passed by lawmakers. A historian at the Lowell Observatory, where Pluto was discovered, acknowledged that lawmakers have a lot of serious business to attend to, but said the bill is “kind of a lighthearted thing that really has a lot to do with pride to the state.”
